Not as bad as it used to be, but still needs work.
In the 1950s/60s before the Clean Air Act and California's first-in-the-world moves to clean up the air, the blue sky was typically blotted out by 'the smog'...
California's actions led to changes in emission regulations that led to cleaner air -- and a multitude of health, environmental, and quality of life benefits.
Thank you California! Now the 4th largest economy in the world (and state that is the largest provider of taxes to the US federal government).
