GreenPolicy360: Here in Tampa Bay, the 'Frontlines of Climate Change' (and terrestrial home base of Green Policy global networking), today we share a screengrab from our local weatherperson. Let's call it -- Mornings are getting warmer.
WFLA's Jeff Berardelli looks at the data, the trendlines, the science and being aware of the changes over the decades across Florida, particularly the central west coast of the state, as he continues to report *and educate* the 'Sunshine State' citizens.
The message here -- the mornings are growing warmer and warmer ... the temperatures hotter, the water along the coastline, in the Gulf, warmer. In turn, the seasonal hurricanes, fed by these conditions, are becoming bigger, stronger, faster. Names like Helene and Milton, 'canes from last year, delivered rapid intensity growth crossing the Gulf waters and produced devastation.
Bernardelli, the weather reporter, with straightforward explanations, now makes his predictions and people of Florida listen, learn, prepare -- or ignore his facts at their peril.
In Florida's current political climate, unfortunately, the denial of climate change facts is the temper of the times... much of the political scene is retro and anti-factual.
Meanwhile, the extreme weather and the physics of science, all around, continue to display an all too real reality.
Read more about about the facts and .... act to make a positive difference wherever you are 'On God's Green Earth' (as the saying goes) --
